Although this is not a page for doityourselfers I want to caution people about replacing hosebibbs.
For some reason most hose bibb makers feel compelled to have a place on the bibb where you can put a smooth jawed wrench
like an adjustable wrench. This isnt bad unless you think that because of the hex shape you can unthread it. This is not always the case
as I have seen time and time again when customers tried to unscrew a solder type hosebibb.
You can tell when there are threads when you can see them but not
when you can't
When there is plaster all around it you can't be sure
If you don't know the difference, this looks like it is threaded but it's not. It's soldered.
